An accomplished figure in the technology field for more than three decades, Raghavendra P. Setty has been active at Charles Schwab & Co., a prominent investment services firm, across various positions since 2007. Initially hired as a senior technical project manager, he subsequently served as the senior manager of Core Technology Solutions and then the director of Trading Technology. Since 2016, he’s excelled as the managing director and head of Core Brokerage Services Engineering, through which he defines, develops, and maintains the technology strategy and availability of applications that support the company’s core broker-dealer business.

Under Mr. Setty’s leadership in the technology sector—and his expertise in core banking, technology strategy and innovation, and various technology operations—Charles Schwab was able to seamlessly migrate 17 million clients from TD Ameritrade, Inc., which was one of the largest mergers in the brokerage industry. He was able to influence and define the strategy, in addition to bringing the people across both teams to execute on a unified mission of making the transition seamless to clients, ensuring the technological applications and frameworks were incorporated. Prior to his accomplished career at Charles Schwab, he found success as a consultant for product implementation and a program management and solution architect at i-flex Solutions Ltd. in England from 2002 to 2006.

Originally from India, Mr. Setty started his career as a project leader at Creative Infotech before relocating to the United States. He earned a Bachelor of Technology in computer systems from Thompson Rivers University in Canada in 2001 and later continued his education with a postgraduate degree in cloud computing from the University of Texas at Austin and postgraduate coursework in artificial intelligence and machine learning at UT Austin’s Texas McCombs School of Business. He additionally completed the Securities Industry Institute. He attributes his success to his deep sense of empathy. Mr. Setty is genuinely passionate about grasping the challenges businesses face within the technology sector and comprehending the intricacies of business operations, despite being a technologist at heart.

Extremely civic-minded outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Setty has been a donor and contributor with the Texas Food Bank since 2018 and a longtime founding trustee for another nonprofit organization. From 2008 to 2011, Mr. Setty was the senior manager of core technology solutions at Charles Schwab in Denver, Colorado, and worked as a senior technical project manager on a contractual basis at the company’s San Francisco location. Earlier in his career, he gained valuable international experience as a consultant specializing in product implementation, program management and solution architecture for retail and corporate banking at i-flex Solutions Ltd. in London from 2002 to 2006. He also served as a global support manager and implementation lead at 3i Infotech Ltd. in India from 1998 to 2002 and started his vocational journey as a project leader at Creative Infotech from 1996 to 1998.

Mr. Setty’s equally impressive academic achievements include a postgraduate degree in cloud computing from The University of Texas at Austin, postgraduate coursework in artificial intelligence and machine learning at Texas McCombs School of Business and a Bachelor of Technology in computer systems from Thompson Rivers University in 2001. To expand his knowledge and qualifications, he completed the Securities Industry Institute Executive Education Program at Wharton Executive Education in 2024 as well as leadership programs at Harvard Business School and University of California, Berkeley.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Setty enjoys traveling and watching Formula One racing in his spare time.
